Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday reshuffled top bureaucracy in the Punjab when he appointed new chief secretary and police chief, it is learnt.
The premier appointed former finance secretary Dr Kamran Ali Fazal as the new chief secretary in place of Jawad Rafique Malik. He also decided to appoint PSCA director-general additional IGP Rao Sardar as Punjab police chief in place of Inam Ghani.
The reshuffle was decided by Prime Minister Imran during a meeting with Chief Minister Usman Buzdar.
The notification for the new chief secretary and the Punjab IGP would be issued after approval of the federal cabinet.
It may be recalled that the Punjab government is changing the IGP for the sixth time and chief secretary for the fourth time.
Earlier, the Chief Minister Buzdar had informed the federal government in writing about replacing the Punjab IGP and the chief secretary.
According to news channel Geo, the provincial cabinet is likely to be shuffled as well.
