The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has restored the mobile internet services in Lahore.

The data internet services were blocked on Thursday in the wake of the violent protests by the Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) were restored on Monday evening.

On Saturday, PTA spokesperson Khurram Mehran had said that the data services were blocked in a 10 km radius of Chowk Yateem Khana on the directives of the authorities for security reasons.

However, in an announcement on Tuesday, the PTA said the services were restored in Yateem Khana and its adjoining areas.

Residents living in Lahore had been facing internet outages since Thursday without any prior intimation or announcement by the government.

The mobile internet had stopped working in several localities, including Gulberg, Harbanspura, Chaurburji, China Chowk, of the provincial capital on Thursday after the government announced a crackdown on the Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan.
