Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) senior leader, Senator Mushahidullah Khan, passed away late on Wednesday night. He was 68.

He had been unwell for a couple of months. Details of his funeral will be announced later.

He was awarded ticket for the March 3 elections of Senate for a general seat.

Senator Mushahidullah Khan was born in 1953 in Rawalpindi. He had been a member of the Senate since March 2018 and previously served as a minister for climate change in Nawaz Sharif’s cabinet.

He received his early education from Islamia High School and graduated from Gordon College. He got his degree in law from Karachi University in 1997.

Mushahidullah Khan had been a member of the PML-N since 1990.

PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz called him a companion of MNS in her message on Twitter.

She said she was “shattered to hear the sad news”.

“Senator Mushahidullah Khan, MNS’s loyal and exceptional companion left us. Will never be able to forget his fatherly affection & love. Huge huge loss,” she wrote on Twitter.
