Prime Minister Imran Khan has tested positive for the deadly coronavirus two days after he was administered the first dose of vaccine against the viral infection, said Dr Faisal Sultan, PM’s aide on health.

Dr Sultan said the prime minister went into self-isolation at his Banigala residence after testing positive for the infection. He has a slight fever with cough, but overall he is doing well.

The premier had shown symptoms of the virus on the same day he was administered the first dose of the vaccine. His second dose of the vaccination was still pending, confirmed the health ministry spokesperson.
