Prime Minister Imran Khan met Chairman Senate Sadiq Sanjrani today, March 10, 2021.
Chairman Sanjrani on Monday met Minister for Information Shibli Faraz, Member National Assembly (MNA) Amir Dogar and Punjab Food Minister Aleem Khan to devise a strategy for the March 12 vote.
Last week, Prime Minister Imran Khan named Sadiq Sanjrani as the PTI candidate for the office of Senate Chairman.
The Minister for Information Shibli Faraz announced the prime minister’s pick for the leader of the upper house in a tweet.
At present, the opposition alliance has a majority in the 100-member house – with 53 – seats to the ruling alliance, which has 47 seats.
The chairman and deputy chairman will be elected through a secret ballot on March 12.
