ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan Tuesday approved the historic Gilgit Baltistan (GB) Integrated Development Plan.
The PM approved the GB Integrated Development Plan while chairing a meeting in the federal capital, a brief statement issued by the PM Media Office said.
Addressing the meeting, the prime minister the uplift of Gilgit-Baltistan was one of the top priorities of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government.
The PM also directed the chief minister of Gilgit-Baltistan, Khalid Khursheed, to focus on tourism in the region.
“Gilgit-Baltistan has huge potential for tourism that needs to be exploited. There is a need to pay special attention to tourism promotion and environmental protection.”
“The projects will produce effective solutions to the problems of the region and numerous job opportunities will be available to the youth,” the statement added.
