All Boeing 777 aircraft in Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) fleet are equipped with General Electric engines which are considered to be the safest engines, revealed a PIA spokesman. The airline’s flight operations are normal as per its schedule.
The spokesman further stated that The Boeing Company had recently recommended suspending operations of the 69 in service and 59 in storage 777s powered by Prat and Whitney 4000-12 engines.
He added that the engines installed in PIA’s aircraft are of General Electric, considered to be the safest. Nearly 1,000 of its engines are being used worldwide.
PIA has 12 Boeing 777s powered by General Electric Engines. PIA’s spokesman concluded.
