Prime Minister Imran Khan’s candid admission on improving governance on Tuesday made him the target of PDM’s ridicule. His frank comments on coming to terms with the complexity of governance and directions to his ministers to pull up performance were seized by the opposition as “proof of ineptitude.”
Prime Minister’s speech at ‘Performance Agreements of the Federal Government for the Year 2020-21’ in Islamabad – warning his ministers that “we no longer have an excuse that we’re new and are learning” – provided ample ammunition to the opposition alliance during their rally in Mardan.
PML-N’s Maryam Nawaz and JUI-F’s Maulana Fazlur Rehman focused primarily on the comments made by the Prime Minister a day before, claiming them to be a vindication of their stance.
The opposition alliance kicked off the second phase of protest movement with the rally in Mardan, with the question of resignations hanging in the air.
