Dr Faisal Sultan, Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Health on Tuesday said that Pakistan has signed an agreement with three companies to purchase 30million doses of vaccine.
Addressing a press conference, Dr Faisal Sultan said Pakistan has bought 3million vaccines since March 30. He said CanSinoBio company has agreed to transfer technology to produce vaccines in Pakistan.
He said CansinoBio vaccine will be packaged in Pakistan. Pakistan is already buying vaccines from China and Russia.
There is a false impression being given that the government is relying solely on COVID-19 vaccine donations from other countries,” Dr Sultan said. “This is misleading.”
On Monday, the Federal Minister for Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives Asad Umar announced that the registration process for vaccination of all citizens above age 40 will start from Tuesday, April 27.
Furthermore, walk in vaccination for people between age 50-60 will also start from tomorrow. Umar has urged the people to get themselves registered.
The NCOC head took to Twitter and said, “In today’s NCOC meeting decided to open up registration of 40 plus age citizens starting tomorrow. Also, the decision taken to allow walk in vaccination of all registered citizens of 50 plus age group. If you are 40 years or older please register and encourage others to register
