In the last 24 hours, 1,877 people tested positive for COVID-19 in Pakistan while 32 lost their lives, according to the latest statistics released by the National Command and Control Centre (NCOC). The trend continued with Punjab reporting the most number of deaths in the country followed by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK).
As of January 11, the total active COVID-19 cases in Pakistan stand at 35,246. Yesterday, 34,524 tests were conducted with Sindh conducting 10,571; Punjab: 13,396; Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: 5,798; Islamabad: 3,546; Balochistan: 537; Gilgit-Baltistan: 349 and Azad Kashmir: 327.
Out of 1756 ventilators reserved for COVID-19 patients in the country, 294 ventilators are currently occupied. There is no patient on the ventilator in AJK, GB and Balochistan.
A total of 504,293 cases have been detected so far in the country with AJK reporting 8,489; Balochistan: 18,412; GB: 4,880, ICT: 39,242, KPK: 61,424; Punjab: 145,508 and Sindh: 226,338.
Till now, Pakistan has recorded 10,676 deaths. Punjab is on top of the list with 4,272 casualties followed by Sindh: 3699, KPK: 1,740; Islamabad: 441; Balochistan: 188; GB: 101 and AJK: 235.
625 hospitals in Pakistan are equipped with COVID-19 facilities with 2,812 patients being treated. Till now, Pakistan has conducted 7,122,538 tests.
