ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Science Foundation (PSF) has invited concepts proposals for the Research and Development Industry Program from HEC recognised public and private sector universities, public sector R&D organisations and industry.
The call for proposals is part of the research being carried out under the PSF project titled Competitive Research Programme. The research programme involves Consortium Research Grants (CRGs) for diverse disciplines, the Triple Helix Model (research in collaboration with industry) and Individual Grants for research and development, a PSF official said.
To avail grants from this program, the HEC requires the Principal Investigator (PI) to be from an HEC recognised university or public or private R&D individuals; however, individuals from relevant industries can be taken onboard for commercial trials, production and marketing activities.
The last date to submit the concept proposals is April 7th, a PSF official told the media. The concept proposals must develop solutions through indigenous research and innovation to develop a technology-driven R&D solution, the PSF outlined.
The application proforma must mention the process, prototype, product, application, or design technology to be developed and submitted at ps*****@gm***.com, the official added.
The outlines provided by the foundation state that the research proposal should analyse the economic impact on the national economy through public policy, import-substitution, and export push, clearly also outline the research or product’s economic contingencies.
In his recent tweet, Federal Minister for Science and Technology Chaudhry Fawad Hussain said that it is a first of its kind research project. One of the research under the ambit of this program aims to evaluate the environmental impact of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
