In the last 24 hours, Pakistan recorded 148 deaths while 5,499 people have tested positive for COVID-19, according to the latest statistics released by the National Command and Control Centre (NCOC). Most casualties were seen in the province of Punjab followed by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
As of April 21, the total active COVID-19 cases in Pakistan stand at 83,162. Yesterday, 47,301 tests were conducted with Sindh conducting 11,341; Punjab: 21,293; Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP): 8,026; Islamabad(ICT): 4,388; Balochistan: 1,248; Gilgit-Baltistan(GB): 219 and Azad Kashmir(AJK): 786.
Out of 1,756 ventilators reserved for COVID-19 patients in the country, 522 ventilators are currently occupied. There is no patient on the ventilator in GB, and Balochistan. So far, Pakistan has seen a total of 672,619 recoveries.
A total of 766,882 cases have been detected so far in the country with AJK reporting 15,873; Balochistan: 21,127; GB: 5,204; ICT: 70,984 KP: 108,462; Punjab:276,535 and Sindh: 274,196.
Till now, Pakistan has recorded 16,600 deaths. Punjab is on top of the list with 7,664 casualties followed by Sindh: 4,559; KP: 2,953; Islamabad: 649; Balochistan: 225; GB: 104 and AJK: 446.
631 hospitals in Pakistan are equipped with COVID-19 facilities with 5,350 patients being treated across the country. A total of 11,319,832 tests have been conducted so far in the country.
