Although coronavirus positivity ratio has declined, the number of deaths increased as Pakistan reported 47 people fell prey to the COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, the National Command and Operation data (NCOC) showed on Thursday morning.

Pakistan registered another 3,914 cases in a single day after testing 54,638 samples, placing the country’s coronavirus positivity ratio at 7.1 percent, and the number of total cases at 1,474,075.

With 47 deaths, overall toll reached 29,648.

Moreover, the country’s active case count stood at 84,670 after 5,459 coronavirus patients recovered in a day.

Despite an irregular graph of the deaths and fresh cases, the number of COVID-19 recuperation have witnessed a steady rise, which took the total recoveries count to 1,354,298.

The countrywide breakdown is as follows:

  • Sindh: 978 cases, 27 deaths
  • Punjab: 971 cases, 13 deaths
  • Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: 1,374 cases, 6 deaths
  • Balochistan: 47 cases
  • Islamabad: 239 cases
  • Gilgit-Baltistan: 31 cases
  • Azad Jammu and Kashmir: 274 cases, 1 death
