In the last 24 hours, Pakistan registered 4,767 new COVID-19 infections while 57 lost their lives according to the latest statistics released by the National Command and Control Centre (NCOC). Most deaths were seen in the province of Punjab followed by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK).
As of March 28, the total active COVID-19 cases in Pakistan stand at 44,447. Yesterday, 45,656 tests were conducted with Sindh conducting 9,424; Punjab: 19,377; Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: 8,160; Islamabad: 6,460; Balochistan: 1,054; Gilgit-Baltistan (GB): 350 and Azad Kashmir (AJK): 831.
Of the ventilators reserved for COVID-19 patients, 388 are occupied across Pakistan. 60% of the reserved ventilators are occupied in Gujranwala, 70% in Multan, 62% in Islamabad, and 55% in Lahore. No patients are on ventilators in Balochistan, AJK, and GB.
A total of 654,591 cases have been detected so far in the country with AJK reporting 12,367; Balochistan:19,497; GB: 4,999; ICT: 55,594, KPK: 84,609; Punjab: 212,918 and Sindh:264,607.
Till now, Pakistan has recorded 14,215 deaths. Punjab is on top of the list with 6,229 casualties followed by Sindh: 4,491; KPK: 2,283; Islamabad: 559; Balochistan: 206; GB: 103 and AJK: 344.
631 hospitals in Pakistan are equipped with COVID-19 facilities with 3,631 patients being treated across the country. A total of 10,066,726 tests have been conducted so far.
