In the last 24 hours, 3,667 people tested positive for COVID-19 in Pakistan while 44 lost their lives, according to the latest statistics released by the National Command and Control Centre (NCOC). Most casualties were seen in the province of Punjab followed by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
As of March 21, the total active COVID-19 cases in Pakistan stand at 31,107. Yesterday, 41,960 tests were conducted with Sindh conducting 10,443; Punjab:15,149; Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP):7,478; Islamabad (ICT):6,728; Balochistan:552; Gilgit-Baltistan (GB): 400 and Azad Kashmir (AJK):1,210.
Of the ventilators reserved for COVID-19 patients, 299 are occupied across Pakistan. 32% of the reserved ventilators are occupied in Peshawar, 48% in Multan, 53% in Islamabad, and 40% in Lahore. No patients are on ventilators in Balochistan, AJK, and GB.
A total of 626,802 cases have been detected so far in the country with AJK reporting 11,609; Balochistan:19,327; GB:4,972; ICT:51,414, KPK:79,245; Punjab:197,177 and Sindh:263,058.
Till now, Pakistan has recorded 13,843 deaths. Punjab is on top of the list with 5,974 casualties followed by Sindh:4479; KPK:2,208; Islamabad: 543; Balochistan: 203; GB: 103 and AJK: 333.
631 hospitals in Pakistan are equipped with COVID-19 facilities with 2,900 patients being treated across the country. A total of 9,773,993 tests have been conducted so far.
