In the last 24 hours, 1,594 people tested positive for COVID-19 in Pakistan while 48 lost their lives, according to the latest statistics released by the National Command and Control Centre (NCOC). Most deaths were recorded in the province of Punjab followed by Sindh.
As of January 24, the total active COVID-19 cases in Pakistan stand at 34,628. Yesterday, 40,285 tests were conducted with Sindh conducting 6,207; Punjab: 19,090; Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: 65,413; Islamabad: 7,102; Balochistan: 596; Gilgit-Baltistan: 358 and Azad Kashmir: 419.
Out of 1,756 ventilators reserved for COVID-19 patients in the country, 304 ventilators are currently occupied. There is no patient on the ventilator in AJK, GB and Balochistan.
A total of 532,412 cases have been detected so far in the country with AJK reporting 8,795; Balochistan: 18,736; GB: 4,901, ICT: 40,713, KPK: 65,287; Punjab: 153,410 and Sindh: 240,570.
Till now, Pakistan has recorded 11,295 deaths. Punjab is on top of the list with 4,561 casualties followed by Sindh: 3,888, KPK: 1,832; Islamabad: 465; Balochistan: 193; GB: 102 and AJK: 254.
631 hospitals in Pakistan are equipped with COVID-19 facilities with 2,757 patients being treated. Till now, Pakistan has conducted 7,642,665 tests.
