In the last 24 hours, Pakistan recorded 76 deaths while 1,303 people tested positive for COVID-19, according to the latest statistics released by the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC). Most casualties were seen in the province of Punjab followed by Sindh.

As of June 10, the total active COVID-19 cases in Pakistan stand at 44,236. On Sunday, 41,824 tests were conducted with Sindh conducting 13,972; Punjab: 11,497; Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP): 10,375; Islamabad(ICT): 3,682; Balochistan: 1,222; Gilgit-Baltistan(GB): 386 and Azad Kashmir (AJK): 690.

Out of 1,756 ventilators reserved for COVID-19 patients in the country, 361 ventilators are currently occupied. There is no patient on the ventilator in AJK, GB, and Balochistan. So far, Pakistan has seen a total of 908,576 recoveries.

A total of 937,434 cases have been detected so far in the country with AJK reporting 19,623; Balochistan: 26,052; GB: 5,674; ICT: 81,933, KP: 135,162; Punjab: 343,252 and Sindh: 325,738.

Till now, Pakistan has recorded 21,529 deaths. Punjab is on top of the list with 10,436 casualties followed by Sindh: 5,183 KP: 4,185; Islamabad: 768; Balochistan: 291; GB: 107 and AJK: 559.

639 hospitals in Pakistan are equipped with COVID-19 facilities with 3,192 patients being treated across the country. A total of 13,705,490 tests have been conducted so far in the country since the pandemic started.

Pakistan has vaccinated 10 million people against coronavirus: Asad Umar

Pakistan has so far administered 10 million doses of coronavirus vaccines, said National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) chief Asad Umar on Wednesday. 

Addressing a media conference in Islamabad, Umar said the government’s strategy to arrest the spread of coronavirus has been a success.

Earlier, Asad had taken to Twitter to announce that Pakistan will cross the 10,000,000 doses mark today. 

He said the more quickly we get ourselves vaccinated, the faster we will be able to rid ourselves of this menace.

He requested people to get themselves vaccinated so that business could reopen and life could return to its normal state in Pakistan. 

Umar said the government as well as the masses had done a commendable job in following coronavirus SOPs as a result of which the number of cases has been dropping.
