In the last 24 hours, 2,889 people tested positive for COVID-19 in Pakistan while 46 lost their lives, according to the latest statistics released by the National Command and Control Centre (NCOC). The trend continued with Punjab reporting the most number of deaths in the country followed by Sindh.

As of January 10, the total active COVID-19 cases in Pakistan stand at 34,803. Yesterday, 44,410 tests were conducted with Sindh conducting 14,572; Punjab: 17,613; Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: 5,993; Islamabad: 4,998; Balochistan: 511; Gilgit-Baltistan: 350 and Azad Kashmir: 373.

Out of 1756 ventilators reserved for COVID-19 patients in the country, 304 ventilators are currently occupied. There is no patient on the ventilator in AJK, GB and Balochistan.

A total of 502,416 cases have been detected so far in the country with AJK reporting 8,478; Balochistan: 18,373; GB: 4,879, ICT: 39,120, KPK: 61,148; Punjab: 144,909 and Sindh: 225,509.

Till now, Pakistan has recorded 10,644 deaths. Punjab is on top of the list with 4,260 casualties followed by Sindh: 3693, KPK: 1,718; Islamabad: 439; Balochistan: 188; GB: 101 and AJK: 235.

623 hospitals in Pakistan are equipped with COVID-19 facilities with 2,804 patients being treated. Till now, Pakistan has conducted 7,008,014 tests.
