In the last 24 hours, 1,176 people tested positive for COVID-19 in Pakistan while 23 lost their lives, according to the latest statistics released by the National Command and Control Centre (NCOC). Most casualties were seen in the province of Punjab followed by Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunhwa.

As of February 28, the total active COVID-19 cases in Pakistan stand at 21,836. Yesterday, 38,920 tests were conducted with Sindh conducting 11,225; Punjab: 15,786; Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: 6,361; Islamabad: 4,338; Balochistan: 428; Gilgit-Baltistan: 314 and Azad Kashmir: 468.

Out of 1,756 ventilators reserved for COVID-19 patients in the country, 218 ventilators are currently occupied. There is no patient on the ventilator in AJK, GB and Balochistan.

A total of 579,973 cases have been detected so far in the country with AJK reporting 10,198; Balochistan: 19,045; GB: 4,956; ICT: 44,259, KPK: 72,162; Punjab: 171,349 and Sindh: 258,004.

Till now, Pakistan has recorded 12,860 deaths. Punjab is on top of the list with 5,350 casualties followed by Sindh: 4,343; KPK: 2,072; Islamabad: 496; Balochistan: 200; GB: 102 and AJK: 297.

631 hospitals in Pakistan are equipped with COVID-19 facilities with 1,994 patients being treated. Till now, Pakistan has conducted 8,951,838 tests.
