Coronavirus surge continues in Pakistan as the country recorded more than 7,000 new cases for the second successive day on Sunday, the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) data showed on Monday morning.
As many as 7,195 new coronavirus cases surfaced during the last 24 hours, which were down from Saturday’s 7,586, after 57,401 tests were conducted. The country’s positivity ratio also fell to 12.53 percent from 13 percent a day ago, the NCOC data showed.

- Karachi — 37.23%
- Peshwar — 26.47%
- Muzaffarabad — 25%
- Hyderabad — 18.05%
- Rawalpindi — 17.36%
- Mardan — 16.01%
- Lahore — 15.02%
- Abbottabad — 13.32%
- Islamabad — 12.72%
- Nowshera — 12.24%
Following the detection of new cases, the total number of cases in Pakistan reached 1.37 million, while eight more deaths from coronavirus pushed the toll to 29,105, the statistics showed.
Moreover, the number of critical patients has reached 1,113, while 833 people have recovered from the pandemic in the last 24 hours, taking the total recoveries to 1.269 million. The number of active cases stands at 76,617, said the NCOC.
