Over the last 24 hours, 1792 people tested positive for COVID-19 while 62 people lost their lives in Pakistan, according to the latest statistics released by the National Command and Control Centre (NCOC).
As of December 21, the total active COVID-19 cases in Pakistan stand at 40,491. Yesterday, 34,772 tests were conducted across Pakistan with Sindh conducting: 9,322; Punjab: 14,857; Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: 5,415; Islamabad: 3,916; Balochistan: 356; Gilgit-Baltistan: 409 and Azad Kashmir: 497
Out of 1,756 ventilators reserved for COVID-19 patients, 296 vents are currently occupied. There is no patient on the vent in Balochistan and GB. 46% are the reserved vents are occupied in Multan, 46% in Islamabad, 44% in Lahore, and 31% in Peshawar. No patients are on ventilator in Balochistan and GB. Of the allotted oxygen beds, 59% are occupied in Peshawar, 58% in Islamabad, 41% in Rawalpindi, and 39% in Abbottabad.

615 hospitals in Pakistan are equipped with COVID-19 facilities, with 2,925 patients admitted. So far, 409,085 people have recovered across Pakistan, making it a significant count.
As of today, country’s total death toll stands at 9392.
