Pakistan received another batch of ten million doses of two Chinese coronavirus vaccines, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) said on Wednesday.

A spokesperson for the NDMA tweeted that three million doses of SinoVac vaccine and seven million doses of Sinopharm vaccine arrived in Pakistan between September 19 and 21.

The jabs have been handed over to the Ministry of National Health Services for “distribution among the provinces.”

“All COVID-19 vaccines, including Sinopharm and Sinovac, are now available for the second dose,” the health ministry wrote on Twitter on Wednesday.

Earlier on September 16, half a million doses of Russia’s Sputnik V vaccine had arrived in Pakistan.

Meanwhile, with around a million people being inoculated on a daily basis, the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) has now decided to reach out to communities that have been continuously avoiding vaccination against coronavirus.

Pregnant and lactating women have been advised to get vaccinated as it is perfectly safe for them and their babies.
