The special forces units of Pakistan and Kazakhstan armies began joint exercises on Wednesday, said an ISPR statement.
The Dostarym III drill began at the Pakistan Army’s counterterrorism training school in the town of Pabbi in Khyber Pakhtunkwa province, said the statement.
The exercise aims at developing coordination between the Pakistan and Kazakh armies.
The ISPR statement said that hostage rescue, compound clearance, helicopter rappelling, and close-quarters battle drills and procedures are the areas of focus during the exercises.
The exercise will focus on interaction, interoperability, quick decision making and swift action at a tactical level.
Military officers from both the countries witnessed the exercises.
The first joint exercises between the two armies were held in 2017 in Pakistan, while the second were held in 2019 in Kazakhstan, the statement concluded.
