Vice President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Rajiv Shukla commented that there have been no discussions within the BCCI regarding any possible tour of Pakistan or the two sides playing each other.

His comments came after reports within the Pakistani media that Pakistan and India can be up against each other in a bilateral series in 2021. According to GeoNews, sources within the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) sources said if the series goes ahead, it will be the Indian team that will visit Pakistan.

The last time these two sides met in a bilateral series was in 2012-2013 when Pakistan visited India for two T20Is and three one-day internationals. Since then, the cricketing fans have only seen these two neighbouring countries play in the International Cricket Council (ICC) events.

Notably, the ICC meeting is to be held soon, where the Indian board has to inform the ICC about the progress made on visas and security arrangements for Pakistan players, journalists, and spectators in the upcoming T20 World Cup, scheduled to be held in India later this year.
