The National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) has decided that the educational institutions will observe winter vacation in January.
The NCOC took the decision unanimously in its meeting on Wednesday. It decided that the education institutions will be closed in the end of January after reviewing the recommendations from the provinces.
A meeting of the provincial education ministers on Tuesday agreed to shift the winter vacation, but the decision in this regard was left to the NCOC.
The NCOC delayed vacation due to the ongoing coronavirus vaccination process in schools and hoped that the drive would be completed before closure.
It also decided that schools in those areas where heavy snow takes place will remain closed for extended period.
The Sindh government has already announced winter vacations from December 20 to January 3.
