Multan: Shaheen Shah Afridi was on song once again as he picked up his second five-wicket haul of the tournament to make it three wins out of four. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa registered a comfortable eight wicket win over Sindh. Shaheen removed the top three batters with new ball pushing Sindh on the back foot and then returned at the back end of the innings to pick two more wickets.

After being three down in the power play, Sharjeel Khan and Ahsan Ali resurrected the innings with a brilliant 111-runs partnership. Sharjeel smashed 90 off just 56 balls while Ahsan contributed 42. At one point Sindh were well on their way to reach 200 as they were 165 for 3 by the end of 17th over but Afridi’s two wickets in the end made sure they were reduced to 184. He finished with impressive figures of 5 for 21 while seasoned campaigners like Junaid Khan and Muhammad Hafeez went at 11 and 14 runs per over respectively.

It was a walk in the park for KP as Fakhar Zaman provided a blistering start at the top. He scored 41-ball 61 and kind of killed the game in the start. He was ably assisted by the veteran Muhammad Hafeez who scored 72 runs in just 42 balls with four fours and as many sixes. Iftikhar Ahmed with his 21-ball 40 made sure that it was a easy run chase till the end.

Sindh’s bowling looked lacklustre and they weren’t able to make any impression whatsoever. Both the pace attack and spinners went the distance. Anwar Ali took the two wickets but went for forty runs.

With this win Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have consolidated their position in the points table and now sit at second spot behind Northern.
