The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has summoned Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif on August 24 in the scandal of award of contract of Rawalpindi Metro Bus project.
The anti-corruption watchdog has summoned the Opposition Leader in the National Assembly for granting the contract to Mustafa Kamal, the brother of PML-N leader Ahsan Iqbal.
Contractor Mustafa Kamal has also been summoned by the NAB on the same date.
According to NAB, there is no documentation regarding the contract in the files of Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) and the contract was given to Mustafa Kamal on the directions of Shehbaz Sharif as the then Punjab chief minister.
The NAB alleged the former chief minister violated PPRA rules in the award of contract to brother.
The summon has been sent to Shehbaz Sharif’s Model Town residence through the Lahore CCPO to ensure his appearance on August 24 to record his statement.
