Pakistan Muslim League (Quaid-e-Azam) PML-Q leader Moonis Elahi has denied that the Chaudhrys turned down Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s request for support to the PDM candidate for Senate chairman’s election.
Moonis took to twitter on Monday and said: “Bilawal Bhutto Zardari did not ask for support in senate and nor did we offer. He came to inquire about Shujat Sb’s health for which we are grateful.”
Pakistan People Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal along a delegation called on the PML-Q leaders in Lahore on Sunday.
The PPP’s official Twitter account also clearly stated that the chairman was there to inquire about the health of Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain.
The incumbent chairman, Sadiq Sanjrani, is the government candidate for PTI while PDM has nominated former prime minister Yousuf Raza Gilani a joint opposition candidate.
The PML-Q is a part of government’s alliance in Center and Punjab.
