Police said Mumtaz, a resident of Vachha Sandila area of Sadar Jalalpur, had married to Najma Bibi of his own choice two years ago.

The couple was living a good life after which a few days ago the husband came to know about his wife’s first love. Mumtaz developed suspicion on the characters of Najma and killed her by tying a cloth around her neck four days ago.

Riaz Hussain, a resident Vachha Sandila, called 15 and informed the police that his brother Mumtaz had killed his wife and buried her by the banks of a river.

Local police reached the spot and arrested Mumtaz. The body of the deceased was also recovered by police.

During the interrogation, Mumtaz revealed that his wife had illicit relations and he killed her a few days back. It is reported that the suspect kept the body buried inside the house for one day after the murder.
