The overall output of LSMI (large-scale manufacturing industries) has increased by 14.85% for July-June FY21 compared to July-June FY20.

Data released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) on Friday showed that the LSMI output increased by 18.42% for June 2021 compared to June 2020 and 4.36% compared to May 2021.

The textile sector showed the highest change with a cumulative year-over-year growth impact of 3.98%. Non-Metallic Mineral Products exhibited an impressive 3.31% growth impact, and Food, Beverages & Tobacco clocked in at 2.38%. Other sectors to show growth and promise are Coke & Petroleum Products (0.96%), Pharmaceuticals (1.01%), Chemicals (0.48%), Automobiles (2.17%), Iron & Steel Products (0.58%), and Fertilizers (0.47%). 

The statistics also showed a decline during July-June 2020-21 compared to July-June 2019-20 in Electronics, Leather Products, Rubber Products, Engineering Products, and Wood Products.
