Prime Minister Imran Khan to inaugurate the world’s largest Miyawaki Forest in Lahore as part of the 10 Billion Tree Tsunami Project.
The forest spreads over 100 kanal and has a total of 165,000 plants. The unique Miyawaki technique allows the plants to grow 10 times faster using specialised land preparation and indigenous plant varieties.
There are 53 Miyawaki forests in various parts of Lahore. Which will not only counter the rising air pollution but also serve as carbon sinks for the city.
There is an additional monsoon plantation campaign under which 500 million trees will be planted across the country.
