KARACHI: Image Pakistan Limited has become the first listed company to join Amazon as Pakistan has been added recently in sellers list the web-based global business platform. The addition in the approved seller list is likely to support Image Pakistan Limited to improve both the top and bottom-line.

“We are pleased to announce that our company has taken lead to become Pakistan’s first approved seller on Amazon,” the statement issued by Image Pakistan Limited said.

It is the manufacturer of fine quality embroidered fabric since 1993. From production to packaging of the final product, everything is carried out under one roof, the company is considered one of the best embroidery companies in Pakistan.

Last month the e-commerce giant Amazon added Pakistan to its sellers’ list. Pakistan’s business community and government termed it a big accomplishment for the country’s e-commerce trade. Amazon’s seller list also provided a golden opportunity to Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and individuals to sell their products to global markets.

According to estimates, there are 310 million active Amazon customer accounts worldwide, 90 million of which are Amazon Prime members who spend an average of $1,300 per year on the platform, with the remaining 220 million non-Prime members spending an average of $700.

At least 104 countries, including India and Bangladesh, are on the seller list which allows their citizens and businesses to sell products on the website to millions of consumers across the world. The number of the SMEs registered on Amazon is around 20,000.
