The government gave the nation new year’s gift in the shape of hike in the prices of petroleum products.
Prime Minister Imran Khan on Friday approved increase in the prices of petroleum products following a commitment with the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
According to a notification issued by the Finance Division, the prices will be effective at the stroke of midnight on January 1,2022 for the first 15 days of the month.
The increase has been announced to meet the petroleum levy target agreed with the IMF.
As per the notification, the price of kerosene has been increased by Rs3.95, and light diesel oil (LDO) by Rs4.15 per litre.
The government has increased the price of petrol by Rs4 per litre to Rs144.82, and the price of HSD by Rs4 to Rs141.62 per litre.
