Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi is set to visit the United Arab Emirates (UAE) tomorrow (Thursday), where he will meet with the Gulf nation’s officials to discuss bilateral issues.

On the top of the agenda will be discussions on the visa suspension: on November 18 UAE had temporarily suspended issuance of certain categories of visas to a dozen countries, including Pakistan, creating unrest among the business communities, labourers, and people related to tourism industries.

The Correspondent obtained a letter of Dubai Freezone Airport which lists the countries which cannot be given New Employment Visas and New Visit Visas (Long, Short, and Tourist).

Following the ban, sources in the airline industry told The Correspondent that the visa ban “would be lifted shortly.”
