Fawad Chaudhary denied the claims of government enforcing hijab on PTV’s news anchors. “Hijab is a personal choice and the government cannot regulate dress code”, the minister tweeted.

This clarification came after a tweet started making rounds on twitter applauding the Prime minister Imran Khan for making the Hijab mandatory. This fictitious news was received with a blend of praise and criticism.
Enforcemment of hijab is a popular opinion among the more conservative Muslims. The truth is that this law robs women of the basic right to body autonomy. Only when the Muslim community allows its women to chose, can it condemn France for taking away that autonomy through the hijab ban.
