Islamabad United’s all-rounder Faheem Ashraf is likely to miss the upcoming matches of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), after sustaining a split webbing in his left hand during the game against Lahore Qalandars on Wednesday.

According to a press release issued by the two-time champions, Faheem had already bowled his first two overs when he suffered the injury, and he immediately left the field. The all-rounder had suffered a split between his thumb and index finger and five stitches have been applied to the deep cut.

“Faheem suffered a laceration to the base of the left thumb. Suturing was completed in the ER, he was given antibiotics and paracetamol, and discharged into our care,” Islamabad United Physio, Jason Pilgrim, said.

The all-rounder remained the top scorer for Islamabad as he scored 27 off 24 and later took the important wicket of Fakhar Zaman. Faheem’s absence in the next few games is likely to hurt the two-time PSL champions big time.

After beating Islamabad by five wickets, Lahore Qalandars have climbed to the top of the points table with four victories in five games. On the other hand, United sits at the 4th spot with three victories in five matches so far.
