The National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) on Saturday said that all educational institutions, including universities, in districts that have a low positivity rate will resume classes on Monday, June 7.
According to a local newspaper that quoted NCOC, educational institutions are required to implement strict coronavirus guidelines to prevent the spread of the deadly virus. It added schools will not open in the districts that still have a high positivity ratio.
Punjab, Balochistan, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa resumed classes for matric and inter students on May 31 after the NCOC allowed the provinces to reopen schools in districts with less than 5 percent Covid-19 infection rate. Islamabad schools also resumed classes in line with these directives.
Separately, the NCOC said that one million more doses of coronavirus vaccines arrived in Islamabad from Beijing. It added that another 11 million doses of Sinovac, CanSino and Sinopharm vaccines will be airlift within new few weeks.
According to the NCOC, all-out efforts are being made for mass vaccination with an uninterrupted supply of vaccines being ensured across the country.
Pakistan has so far received 11,475,300 doses of coronavirus vaccines from three countries. The producers include Sinovac, Cansino, Sinopharm, Pfizer and AstraZeneca, they added.
