Karachi Kings qualified for the playoffs stage of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) after beating Quetta Gladiators by 14 runs in a must-win game.
The defending champion finished on 10 points alongside Lahore Qalandars, but a better net run-rate knocked out Lahore Qalandars
Quetta Gladiators finished on the bottom of the table with only two victory from 10 matches.
In the last five overs , Danish Aziz’s whirlwind knock of 45 off 13 balls lifted Karachi to 176-7.
Arish Ali Khan grabbed 4-28 as Karachi slipped to 121-5 in the 17th over. But Aziz’s late fireworks turned the tide in Karach’s favor. The left-hander smashed 33 runs in Jack Wildermuth´s over of the innings from four consecutive sixes and two boundaries.
In the second innings, Weatherald fell to Arshad Iqbal after scoring 25. Sarfaraz (51*) and Hassan Khan (24) scored 32 runs together but it wasn’t enough for Gladiators to chase the target
Mohammad Ilyas bagged three wickets and celebrated in his new style, while Arshad took two scalps.
Quetta, which made some changes in its last league match, ended up at 162 for 7 and lose their last league stage match by 14 runs in PSL6
