The National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) has reported 27 deaths due to coronavirus across Pakistan in the past 24 hours.
13 people died on ventilators as at least 1,871 people are still in critical condition due to the deadly virus. Sindh reported the highest number of fatalities, reporting 12 deaths, while seven people succumbed to the virus in Punjab.
The government conducted 42,062 tests on Tuesday, out of which 979 came back positive for the coronavirus.
RESTRICTIONS EASED:
In the wake of a decrease in Covid cases, the NCOC has allowed indoor dining for vaccinated persons in an attempt to ease restrictions imposed across Pakistan.
According to the NCOC, from July 1 onwards, indoor dining will be allowed until 11:59 pm, subject to 50 per cent occupancy. It was added that restaurants and hotel management would have to set up a system to verify the vaccination status of customers and ensure vaccination of their staff.
In regards to commercial and business activities, the forum decided on an extension until 10 pm. Essential services would continue 24/7 operation.
The management of wedding halls is similarly ordered to set up a system to check attendees’ vaccination certificates and ensure staff vaccination. In addition, up to 200 vaccinated individuals would be allowed for indoor weddings.
In addition, Cinema halls are allowed to reopen until 1 am for vaccinated individuals only.
