In the last 24 hours, 2,363 people tested positive for COVID-19 in Pakistan while 54 lost their lives, according to the latest statistics released by the National Command and Control Centre (NCOC). Most deaths were seen in the province of Punjab followed by Sindh.
As of January 21, the total active COVID-19 cases in Pakistan stand at 35,293. Yesterday, 43,744 tests were conducted with Sindh conducting 11,208; Punjab: 16,635; Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: 6,234; Islamabad: 5,798; Balochistan: 584; Gilgit-Baltistan: 419 and Azad Kashmir: 442.
Out of 1,756 ventilators reserved for COVID-19 patients in the country, 324 ventilators are currently occupied. There is no patient on the ventilator in AJK, GB and Balochistan.
A total of 524,783 cases have been detected so far in the country with AJK reporting 8,706; Balochistan: 18,670; GB: 4,894, ICT: 40,430, KPK: 64,373; Punjab: 151,603 and Sindh: 238,470.
Till now, Pakistan has recorded 11,157 deaths. Punjab is on top of the list with 4,501 casualties followed by Sindh: 3,843, KPK: 1,811; Islamabad: 460; Balochistan: 192; GB: 102 and AJK: 248.
631 hospitals in Pakistan are equipped with COVID-19 facilities with 2,820 patients being treated. Till now, Pakistan has conducted 7,525,432 tests.
