In the last 24 hours, Pakistan recorded 74 deaths while 3,084 people tested positive for COVID-19, according to the latest statistics released by the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC). Most casualties were seen in the province of Punjab followed by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
As of May 23, the total active COVID-19 cases in Pakistan stand at 62,620. Yesterday, 62,061 tests were conducted with Sindh conducting 19,149; Punjab: 29,121; Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP): 7,754; Islamabad(ICT): 3,176; Balochistan: 1,480; Gilgit-Baltistan(GB): 428 and Azad Kashmir(AJK): 953.
Out of 1,756 ventilators reserved for COVID-19 patients in the country, 536 ventilators are currently occupied. There is no patient on the ventilator in AJK, GB, and Balochistan. So far, Pakistan has seen a total of 817,681 recoveries.
A total of 900,552 cases have been detected so far in the country with AJK reporting 18,739; Balochistan: 24,517; GB: 5,485; ICT: 80,312, KPK: 129,413; Punjab:333,971 and Sindh: 308,118.
Till now, Pakistan has recorded 20,251 deaths. Punjab is on top of the list with 9,768 casualties followed by Sindh:4,909; KPK: 3,924; Islamabad: 745; Balochistan: 270; GB: 107 and AJK: 528.
639 hospitals in Pakistan are equipped with COVID-19 facilities with 4,800 patients being treated across the country. A total of 12,779,296 tests have been conducted so far in the country since the pandemic begun.
