In the last 24 hours, 4,414 people tested positive for COVID-19 while 113 lost their lives, according to the latest statistics released by the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC). Most casualties were seen in the province of Punjab followed by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
As of April May 2, the total active COVID-19 cases in Pakistan stand at 89,661. Yesterday, 45,275 tests were conducted with Sindh conducting 14,739; Punjab: 16,846; Khyber Pakhtunkhwa(KP): 7,913; Islamabad(ICT): 3,894; Balochistan: 768; Gilgit-Baltistan(GB): 384 and Azad Kashmir(AJK): 731.
Out of 1,756 ventilators reserved for COVID-19 patients in the country, 663 ventilators are currently occupied. There is no patient on the ventilator in GB and Balochistan. So far, Pakistan has seen a total of 722,202 recoveries.
A total of 829,933 cases have been detected so far in the country with AJK reporting 17,297; Balochistan:22,528; GB:5,312; ICT: 75,892, KP:119,277; Punjab:304,889 and Sindh:284,738.
Till now, Pakistan has recorded 18.070 deaths. Punjab is on top of the list with 8,550 casualties followed by Sindh:4,658; KP:3,350; Islamabad: 691; Balochistan: 237; GB: 107 and AJK: 477.
631 hospitals in Pakistan are equipped with COVID-19 facilities with 6,612 patients being treated across the country. A total of 11,882,141 tests have been conducted so far.
