Over the last 24 hours, 5,395 people tested positive for COVID-19 in Pakistan, according to data released by the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC). Meanwhile, 118 people lost their lives to the virus, of which 112 died while hospitalised. Most deaths occurred in Punjab followed by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
With the surge in COVID-19 cases across the country, the number of critical patients has reached 4,276.
631 hospitals within Pakistan are equipped with COVID-19 facilities, with 5,106 patients admitted across the country.
A total of 15,872 deaths have been registered across Pakistan so far.
The number of fatalities registered in the provinces stands at 7,209 in Punjab, 4,533 in Sindh, 2,761 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), 625 in Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT), 221 in Balochistan, 103 in Gilgit Baltistan (GB), and 420 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
As of April 15, 2021, there are 77,294 active cases of COVID-19 in Pakistan.
Yesterday, 64,685 tests were conducted across Pakistan, with 9,923 conducted in Sindh, 37,775 in Punjab, 8,519 in KP, 6,178 in ICT, 1,000 in Balochistan, 565 in GB, and 725 in AJK.
To date, a total of 739,818 COVID-19 cases have been reported in Pakistan (AJK 14,978; Balochistan 20,580; GB 5,153; ICT 68,066; KP 102,290; Punjab 258,441; Sindh 270,310). 10,942,771 tests have so far been conducted across the country.
So far, 646,652 people have recovered across Pakistan.
