The Pakistan government started vaccinating youth of the age of 17 years and older against coronavirus on Wednesday (today) to contain the spread of the pandemic.
Earlier, people who were 18 or older were being inoculated against coronavirus in the country.
National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) head Asad Umar and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on National Health Services Dr Faisal Sultan announced last week new steps and plans to combat COVID-19 cases.
They announced launching drive to vaccinate 17-year-olds from September 1 and said that campaign for people aged 15 to 16 years would be start after that.
They said the people aged 12 years and above with weak immune system would also be inoculated.
They said the vaccination has been made mandatory for anybody intending to travel or attend school.
