Coronavirus claimed more than 24,000 lives in Pakistan with the death of 86 people during the last 24 hours as fourth wave of the pandemic continues without let.
The National Command and Operation Centre’s (NCOC) said that the number of casualties due to coronavirus rose to 24,004.
The data showed that 49,506 COVID-19 tests were conducted across the country in the last 24 hours. Of these, 3,884 came back positive.
According to the NCOC, the positivity rate now stands at 7.84 percent. The total number of cases has risen to 1,075,504.
Punjab has reported the highest number of deaths during the last 24 hours with 38 fatalities, followed by 20 in Sindh.
In the federal capital, 557 cases were reported during the last 24 hours and five deaths, while Khyber Pakhtunkhwa reported 437 new cases and 14 deaths, Azad Jammu and Kashmir 219 cases and four deaths, Gilgit-Baltistan 80 cases and four deaths and Balochistan 57 cases and death of a patient.
