Arshad Nadeem will be in action at the Tokyo Olympics javelin throw final at the Olympic Stadium on Saturday evening.

Arshad, a gold medallist in South Asian Games and bronze medallist in Asian Games, is one of the 12 contestants appearing in the final contest, which is scheduled to start at 4pm according to Pakistan Standard Time.

Arshad is in high spirits to win a medal at the Olympics.

Every contestant is entitled to hurl javelin three times in round one of the final game. After using all three chances, the four at the bottom will be eliminated from the race for the medals and the rest will receive an additional three throws. 

The six best throws will be taken into account.

Arshad won bronze medal in the 2018 Asian Games. He directly qualified for the Olympics with an 86.29m throw in Nepal Asian Games and became the first Pakistani athlete qualified directly for the Olympics track and field event.
