The fourth Captain America film has been announced with Anthony Mackie starring as the Captain.
Deadline reported that it is not yet clear whether Sebastian Stan, who played Bucky in the Marvel films, will be involved.
According to them, Captain America 4 is being scripted by The Falcon and the Winter Soldier head writer and creator Malcolm Spellman, along with series staff writer Dalan Musson.
Mackie’s character Sam Wilson received the Captain’s mantle and shield in the final episode of Disney Plus TV series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.
The original Captain America, Steve Rogers, had retired from the role after 2019’s Avengers: Endgame.
He had also handed his shield over to Sam, to declare him as his replacement in the forthcoming films.
Mackie’s character Falcon is a veteran who ran a self-help group for soldiers’ suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder. He teamed up with Captain America to take down Hydra that had not only survived but also infiltrated S.H.I.E.L.D.
He teamed up with Steve Rogers in Captain America: Civil War, and was by the Avengers’ side in Endgame.
