A media briefing of the 7th Multinational Naval Exercise AMAN-2021 was conducted at Pakistan Navy Fleet Head Quarters in Karachi on Monday.
According to a statement released by the Pakistan Navy, Commander Pakistan Navy Fleet Rear Admiral Naveed Ashraf briefed media about biennial Exercise AMAN. Pakistan Navy is conducting this Exercise since 2007 with the slogan ‘Together for Peace.’
AMAN contributes towards regional peace and stability and resolves against terrorism. It collaborates to maintain a safe and sustainable maritime domain, and enhance interoperability between regional and extra-regional navies.
46 countries are participating in the 7th edition of Exercise AMAN-21. These countries include Britain, Turkey, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, and Malaysia. Countries from the African Union are also among participants of the military exercise.
North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO) member states and Russia will also be part of the exercise, for the first time in a decade. The last time the Russian navy conducted joint military drills with NATO members was in the “Bold Monarch” exercise in 2011, which took place off the coast of Spain.
