In the last 24 hours, 2,118 people tested positive for COVID-19 in Pakistan while 52 lost their lives, according to the latest statistics released by the National Command and Control Centre (NCOC). The trend continued with Punjab reporting the most number of deaths in the country followed by Sindh.
As of January 6, the total active COVID-19 cases in Pakistan stand at 37,740. Yesterday, 38,917 tests were conducted with Sindh conducting 12,457; Punjab: 15,997; Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: 4,521; Islamabad: 4,870; Balochistan: 466; Gilgit-Baltistan: 357 and Azad Kashmir: 249.
Out of 1756 ventilators reserved for COVID-19 patients in the country, 313 vents are currently occupied. There is no patient on the vent in AJK, GB and Balochistan.
A total of 492,594 cases have been detected so far in the country with AJK reporting 8,303; Balochistan 18,280; GB 4,837, ICT 38,020, KPK 59,995; Punjab 142,058 and Sindh 220,501).
Till now, Pakistan has recorded 10,461 deaths. Punjab is on top of the list with 4184 casualties followed by Sindh 3634, KPK: 1695; Islamabad: 432; Balochistan: 184; GB: 186 and AJK: 229.
626 hospitals in Pakistan are equipped with COVID-19 facilities with 2,759 patients being treated. So far, 448,393 people have recovered across Pakistan.
