United Motors, which gained publicity after producing 800cc cars in Pakistan, has now unveiled its 1,000cc United Alpha 2021 in Lahore to compete against giants like Suzuki WagonR, Suzuki Cultus, and Kia Picanto. United Alpha has now officially joined the Pakistani 1,000cc hatchback club.

United Motors launched the Alpha yesterday at an event late night at Pearl Continental Hotel, Lahore.

According to industry sources, United Motors will import the completely knocked down (CKD) units of Alpha from China and will assemble it locally.

The Alpha is now available for sale for Rs 1.395 million at all United Motors 3S dealerships in major cities. It would be an affordable hatchback car with a lot of promising features not available in other locally produced 1,000cc cars, a dealer said.

United Motors has also revealed its plans of launching two more Alpha variants (automatic and electric), another sedan, and an SUV in Pakistan in the future.

Sigma Motorsports

Sigma Motorsports, a motorbike importer of Pakistan, has just imported two Q4 electric cars in Pakistan, and started booking for orders. The company, which is not registered with the Securities and Exchange Company of Pakistan (SECP) and Engineering Development Board (EDB), has set the price up to Rs 2.125 million.

The Q4 electric cars were launched in three variants in Karachi last night, of which the company unveiled only two vehicles. The electric-only Q4 has been priced at Rs 1.895 million, while the car with an added option of solar charge will cost Rs 1.995 million. The same car with three power inputs—electric, solar and petrol—will cost Rs 2.125 million.

Muhammad Adeel Khalid, the co-founder of Sigma Motorsports, informed the attendees of the launch at the company’s showroom, that the company has no plans to start manufacturing in Pakistan.

Sigma Motorsports is currently not availing any incentives under the newly approved Electric Vehicle Policy.

Local car dealers have expressed concern over the booking process of the new vehicles. “How can an individual book the cars after getting huge money from customers without any guarantee, while the delivery of the car would take around six to eight months?” a dealer asked.
